The first of the 23 volumes was published in 1890, the last in 1993. The Monasticon covers, by Belgian province, the history of all the major institutions, both male and female, belonging to the Benedictines, Cistercians, Premonstratensians and Augustinian Canons Regular.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text uncode_shortcode_id=”108358″]The Royal Historical Commission is making the entire series available digitally. This initiative is carried out in collaboration with the National Research Center for Religious History, which has overseen the publication of the Monasticon<\/em> since 1955.<\/p>\n
